Hi Everyone,

So I am taking my boards soon, and have recently taken the Hurst Online review. I am from Massachusetts and will be taking the NCLEX-RN in Massachusetts within the upcoming month. I am worried, because I feel like most people who take the Hurst Review are from the South and from what I have heard the boards in each state or a little different.

So has anyone taken the Hurst Review from Massachusetts and actually had a great outcome and passed the boards? I am stressing and would really like some input :)

The NCLEX is a NATIONAL exam and is the same battery of questions whether you sit in MA, FL, CA, Guam or overseas.

The difference in choice of review is often more in relation to what courses are available in the area.

JustbeachyNurse have you taken the boards yet? do you have any advice. And if you have taken the Hurst Review do you think that helped you?

I passed my boards first time a few years ago with minimum questions. I did not use Hurst or any other review service. Many have posted they were happy & successful with Hurst

My advice would be to know your core content and how to prioritize to select the best/most correct answer. Many people with a strong core nursing knowledge base find LaCharity's PDA book very helpful to reinforce proper prioritization & delegation.

I used hurst. I thought it was a great resource. It helped me learn the content. I suggest going over one chapter a day and test yourself over the content you learned. Do as many questions as you can. Good luck!

ash.RN. so with the Hurst Review and the content that they provided you with.. Did you feel confident during the exam because the content they gave you was really similiar to what questions where being asked? I am just asking this because I took another review with my school and they gave so much content it was rediculous... the hurst review I have been doing, it has given me confidence, and as well helped me understand the body and nursing a lot better. But I am just afraid it could possibly not be enough for the boards seeing as this other review gave me so much content (it is overwhelming). I know I will not ever know all the content to take this exam, but I am just curious if the Hurst Review gave you enough skills, that when you where sitting in the exam everything somehow related or made sense.

Hurst was my only source of content. I suggest only using one source for content unless if you need more clarification on something. I also used kaplan because I wanted to do more questions. Hurst especially helped when I had to answer SATA questions that would ask what are the s/s of this disorder. Know your content and make sure you do as many questions as you can. Understand why you are getting the question incorrect. Your are never going to feel ready or know everything for the test. Know your labs and ekg's. Good luck!

Hey amanda, I feel you. I live here in Massachusetts and I'm about to start doing the HURST next week.

I heard that they are really great with content review. When are you gonna take your exams?

zeifrancisco I have no idea when I am taking my boards yet.. hopefully sooner then later. I am waiting on my ATT right now so that I can schedule my date. I really like the hurst review, I just hope it is enough to help me pass. At this point, I am so overwhelmed and tired of waiting to know when I am going to take this exam. I know I will never know all the content, but I hope by doing the hurst and review questions I will okay enough to pass. When do you take yours zeifrancisco?

I did the HURST for the NCLEX-PN 3 years ago and it really helped me pass. I'm doing the Hurst online review again right now to prepare for NCLEX-RN. I'm super nervous. Its a great resource and just about all I've used to prepare.

I'm from ma too and taking Nclex month. I did not use hurst but I bought ncsbn, have the Saunders book and bought lippincotts Nclex prepu.
