I'm thinking of getting Lippincotts Care Plan Creator (its on sale!) but was hoping to hear some reviews before I purchase.

I have the Mosby's care plan creator CD. It is nice, but my best care plans are the ones that I did using our med. surg book. But I do like to use the CD as a reference when I am in doubt about how to write the interventions and rationales. And because it is on my computer I can save some time by cutting and pasting information when I need to. Mosby's was about $40.00, I think I got it from Barnes and Nobles. I also have the Nursing Care Plans and Documentations by Lynda Juall Carpenito-Moyet, I love that book!

Also remember to reference the clients chart. Some hospitals have client care plans in the chart with interventions, and if not care plans there may be nursing diagnosis in the chart which helps to give you direction when organizing your care plans.

I'm going to check both these items out. Just about to enter my junior year where we'll be doing lots and lots of care plans. My freshman year we only did about 5 or so but had to do other extensive weekly reports--now on to the care plans full time--not looking forward to it. Could use all the help I could get.

I always did them with the help of my medsurg books or the books I was usuing in the current semester. To me they seemed to have the most relevant information.

I have the Mosby's Care plan constructor. I love it. I have never made a care plan any other way. I can't imagine not having this. You will like it. Only one word of warning, make sure you have enough space on your computer, it takes a bunch!
