Rapid Weight loss causes?

What kinds of things would cause rapid weight loss? 34 lbs in 30 days

I am stuck on Thyroid?

P.S. Thanks for the postoperative hysterectomy help, funny thing is I learned that in class today. I told my friend next time let me check my notes first so we could schedule her concerns and I would know what was going on.

I'll be checking in for ideas on my own wt loss.

Cancer, or sprue come to mind. Is this your school work you are asking for? Or for yourself?

Divorce was the cause for me. Otherwise, I don't know.

Mine was completely psychiatric in nature. :D

Seriously though, if this is for yourself, I'd see a doc stat. Any reason I can think of I'm not real comforted by.

If it's for a patient..... what are some of the medical conditions the patient has? How could they lead to weight loss?

Heather

ulcerative colits...I could lose a buncha weight again if i went off my meds....course, wouldn't have much time to clothing shop and enjoy the body in between BR runs....

Not for me, more like research.

What I really don't like about being a newbie is that I feel as if I should be able to make automatic connections and I don't do it all the time,

yuh..but...doooood...i already look madsexy on the toilet.....

I'm not kidding. A surprise divorce and I went from a size 9 to a 4 in no time! I'd look for other causes, depending on the circumstances, but it can happen. Hopefully, it's not a bad medical condition but without any other information, that is all I can think of.

So many possibilities, here are some that haven't been posted. HIV, TB, Hepatitis, diabetes, severe anxiety, depression.

What comes to mind first is also cancer. Has a pt. with pancreatic Ca and he lost wt. rapidly.
