Feb 13, 200323 yr I just got my birkenstocks back from the repair shop and they completely refurbished them. They're like new shoes!! My feet feel good and my back.I recommend this site for Birkenstock Repair.http://www.artnsole.net/
Feb 13, 200323 yr Oh, I just got a catalog of Birkenstocks. I'd love to try them. I'm so hard on shoes, though, even expensive ones ... I'm leary of spending $110 - $150 on shoes and having them last no longer than any others. I destroyed a pair of Danskos in 6 months (simply by wearing them to work). If only a pair would drop out of the sky into my lap.... :)
Feb 13, 200323 yr midnight madness, thanks for that awesome link. wanted to get a pair of birks fixed, but the price i was quoted by a birk store around here was so expensive i thought i'd just buy new ones... this looks much more reasonable!
Feb 14, 200323 yr I've purchased mine online, pretty reasonable, especially the sales , I'll try to find the site.
Feb 14, 200323 yr I've worked in an OR for 6 years and have tried many many many shoes! Klogz are good for squishy walking comfort but my birks have always saved my back! I have the professional rubber birkis.. or super birkis... something like that... there are a few variations. Most of them can be autoclaved but check for guidelines. The insoles (corks) can be replaced for like $15 but I'm hesitant to do so because they are so nicely broken in!There are even metallic birks out if your a snazzy kinda person! try scrubs.comThey are very reliable!
Feb 14, 200323 yr Originally posted by Zee_RN I destroyed a pair of Danskos in 6 months (simply by wearing them to work). My record: a pair of Rockers e-clogs destroyed in about 3 weeks. No joke. They're comfortable and inexpensive, but they aren't made to withstand my abuse.
