How about we have a thread for us! Hahahaha, sorry needed some encouragement today and figured I wasn't alone. I am so excited for the ones starting nursing classes this week, but so jealous. I know it will be my turn soon enough. So how about a check-in to see who's still waiting. When do you hope to start nursing classes? How many prereqs do you have? Or are you just waiting?

Me I should start in August, pretty much waiting. I've had my prereqs done for a while now. I am taking my last general ed class this semester and getting it out of the way. They don't have any nursing classes in the summer so just waiting and getting ready.

I'm waiting too. I'm just taking A&P 2 this spring; already took pharm and med terminology, and there's nothing else to take until I start the nursing program in August...

I'm waiting until next Semester too. I do have the rest of me pre reqs to finish this semester though - A&P 2, Gen. Pharm., Intercultural Comm, Psych 2 and of course, PE!!

I started my pre and co-req's. almost exactly one year ago. I submitted my "Transfer of Credits" and "Nursing School Application" before Christmas and am now waiting to hear back. Boy, I hope they allow me to transfer a bunch of credits from my first degree or I'm going to have one busy summer. I hope to get into my program and begin clinicals in Fall 2003.

I start A&PII next week and am excited to go back to school. No, I am not a Nerd, it's just that my day job is very boring and school allows me to interact with more people and use my noggin!

I am planning on enrolling in an Evening/Weekend Program so that I can at least continue with my day job for the first and second semesters of the Nursing Program. I get nervous that I will be able to do it all but you never know until you try.

Anyone else worried that they will fall flat on their face in the first semester or that it will be too tough?

I'm going at a snail's pace. I won't be starting until Fall 2004! I am doing A&P II, Govt. II, Humanities, and Statistics. 14 hours. I have four busy kids and can't do much more than that. I just hope I don't need a nurse before I become one.

I'm taking A&P 1 and human development now and I'll be taking A&P 2 during the summer, and maybe microbiology also. I'm putting in my application on Jan. 21st (the first day allowed) for next Fall. I can't wait...two more weeks!

I am taking A&P 1, Algebra, Humanities, English Composition and Speech this semester.

Please send some positive thoughts my way for Algebra. I haven't had a math class since I graduated high school in 1986!

This is my last semester of pre-req's. Woo Hoo!!!!! I'm applying to the program in March and with luck will be starting the Nursing program full time in August! Thank you Jesus!!!

I have applied for entry in an ADN program for the Fall of 2003.

My first choice program is very competitive (accepts 1/9 who apply), so I'm feeling very fidgety and wanting an answer, which I won't get until mid-March! My second choice, also an ADN program, is less competitive (they take 1/5 of applicants), so I'm pretty sure they'll take me, but it's a longer commute and classes at less attractive hours (I have school age kids, so I want to be in class while they are as much as possible). My third choice school, a BSN program, is not competitive (it's tuition is too high for that many folks to want to go there!) But I'll have a son in college at the same time, so I really don't' want to be paying (or taking loans for) two $20+K/year programs!

So anyway, I'll start in the Fall, the question, though, is where!

I already have a BA, so gen ed requirements are taken care of, but I do need A&P I&I I and Micro. I'm taking A&P I this semester (don't start until 1/25), A&P II in the summer, and Micro the following summer (I don't have to have Micro done until I begin my second year).

I was glad to see your post! For about 6 months I've been considering a career change and going to nursing school, and in the past month I finally interviewed at 4 schools in my area. Many were full with waiting lists, but I managed to find one that can accept me for this fall -- August 2003. Woohoo!

I already have a college degree, so the only pre-reqs I have to take are A&P 1 and 2. I can't sign up for A&P 1 until January 23, so I'll (hopefully) be in that class from March till May and then A&P 2 in May through July (evening classes twice a week while working full-time -- YUCK!).

I forgot if your post said this -- have you already taken A&P? How was it?

Just wanted to let you know that I took A&PI in the 10 week evening, summer session, met twice a week for 4 hours each day.

It really wasn't that bad. It was kind of nice to just get it out of the way. The class moved really fast but it was nice to spend a week concentrating on one subject, then immediately take a test, and then move on to the next subject.

I'm sure you will do well.

Positive thoughts for you LauraLou! I am sure you will do fine.

Amy, I took A&P (I&II) ten years ago, but it transferred in so I am not much help. I am right now trying to brush up on it because I forgot most of it.

And Colleen oh yes I have a big fear of failure, but I am determined to do this and not let my fears stand in my way.
