The material doesn't seem complicated but for some reason, I got a 64% on a practice test I found online.

How long do you wait to re-take it if you fail?

Well, first of all, I never got above I think a 72 on a practice test, and got mostly A's on the actual tests.

I'm going to guess if you took it tomorrow you'd get a B.

Just set a date and go for it. It's like getting into a pool - a toe at a time doesn't do it.

did you take ec's practice(test similar to real test 2-tries for $60) test or someone else's practice test. one thing that motivated me to study is scheduling my test. give yourself 3 or 4 weeks to study ,but get it scheduled. after you take your first one and get the format down (knowing what to expect) then you will fall right in and start knocking them out. my rule on the ec practice test is if i make 60% or above on both ec practice test..i take the real thing. this week for nc 4 i made a 60% on my first try and 52% on the second try ( broke my own rule) ...made a a on the exam.

Definitely invest in EC's practice exams ... I always figured that practice tests created by EC are going to be the best as far as being similar to the real EC exam, so other practice exams aren't really worth my time (and frankly, I've found that some of the answers on those practice tests you find floating around online are WRONG, so I didn't use them much -- I didn't want to retain bad information!).

I did what txspadequeen did -- I scheduled my exams for a few weeks out, then studied up to my "deadline." The only exam I ever rescheduled was Micro back in November, because life kept getting in the way and I was already CPNE-eligible, so that had no impact on my CPNE timeline. :) I did A&P as my first exam back in May, and I was terrified of taking it -- but I just scheduled it and did it! I took my first nursing concepts exam in June, and just a few months later (October), I was done with those and became CPNE-eligible. Once you get started, the momentum builds and you just keep plugging along! That's how it was for me, anyway. :) I love to learn, love being a student ... hope that never wears off.

I was just like you. I register for Essentials in health safety in November of this year and studied for about 5 hrs over the course of 2 weeks. It was all review. I took the test the 2nd week of November and passed with a "C". I was kinda relieved because I didn't want to fail. It's not the highest grade but hey it's passing. I spent the next three weeks sending transcripts and waiting for my transcripts to be evaluated. I registered for Essentials in chronicity on Dec 5th and took it on Dec 26 and passed. You can do it. The momentum to knock these exams out are in full force. Just registered for Essentials in Reproductive health and plan to take that in the middle of January. You can do it! Just go to Pearson vue and schedule the test. It will take forever if you procrastinate.

I understand how you feel. I scheduled my test in health safety for the 17th of January. I am currently just studying chapter 10 and plan to finish 11 &12 by the 31. Then study and review my notes for 7 days and take the practice test and re-review what I feel is my weak areas. I have'nt yet applied to EC yet. I'm waiting until after this test as well.
