just something you made for yourself to remeber things like normal labs, vitals and what could be going wrong if they are outta whack and such, I & O, electrolytes and such.

I do it too, many of my class mates use them and I have seen many nurses over the summer who were new grads that had those little sheets. I have even seen a couple of nurses who have been nurses for years but switched to a different area and use them. So, it is more common that what one may think.

someone suggested on the bb that the book "stat facts" is a good resource, it's kind of thick but small book. :wink2:

Good tip...I just picked a used one up at amazon.com I think it would be a useful tool for any nurse ...student or experienced!

I bought a clipboard for nurses. It has all the important stuff. norm vs, cardiac rhythms, norm lab value plus more... I can use it in clinicals or in my bag for reference. I Love it.

I also have a clipboard and it does come in handy. It is really good to know that even nurses that have been in the business for years still need to check just to be sure. Just dont sweat the little things.

Do you know where I could find one of these clipboards? They sound like a great thing...

But really, I have one of those laminated "Quick Study" forms, named "NURSING" I keep it on the clipboard I take to clinicals.

We ordered our clipboards in class. It only cost $11.00 and it has a calculator at the top and all your labs, conversions, and almost everything else on it. I am sure that you can find them at almost any uniform shop or online where you buy nursing supplies. I will try to find out the name of the company and post it for you.
