UK nursing

I'm thinking on a move to the UK to work in Geriatrics. I was hoping there may be someone on the board who has already moved from North America and wouldn't mind sharing their experiences. Hearing from UK nurses would be great too. Thanks alot.

Hi there! I'm a nurse working in the UK and loving every minute of it! I work in the local acute hospital which serves a large area of the north west of England. I qualified in April 1999 with RN status and a diploma in nursing studies and I'm hoping to do a degree in Professional Practice later this year. We have many foreign nurses now due to the shortage of qualified nurses but I have never yet met an American nurse they seem to be south African and from Singapore.

I'd be happy to help with any info that you may need.
