I am beginning to consider getting my BSN online. I am interested to know other people's experiences, good or bad, in this process. I would appreciate insight into programs that have worked well for others, as well as programs that were not up to par.

I don't really have any insight, but I'm starting an online BSN program in June, with University of Phoenix. Which programs are you looking at?

I'm in my first semester at Florida Hospital College of Nursing, an NLN approved online program. So far so good. Lots of papers!

I wouldn't go any other way. It's costing me a bit more than the local program here, but it's so much more convenient.

I did the University of Phoenix program in 18 months, finishing in May 04 and will complete the MSN through UofP June 05. It has worked very well for me.

I started University of Phoenix this time last year and should be done in about a year. The cost for this program is very high, but it seems to be a good program. There are lots of papers to write.

I started my BSN program online about a month ago through Indiana Wesleyan University. I researched a lot of places, but this program was not only the cheapest, but every single one of my credits transferred! I have no classes to take except for my nursing classes. I will be finished in Oct. 06. I can only take one class at a time and they are about 5 weeks long. The cost of the program is great, and it not only includes tuition, your books are part of that price. So far I really really like it. Very conveinent! :)

Consider Kaplan University RN to BSN. It is a great program. I have really enjoyed it and they will do anything they can to assist you in completing your degree.

I, too, am going through Kaplan online. It is an awesome program. It is one of the best there is. They help you in anyway. The instructors are phenomenol. Kaplan is also one of the cheaper ones. They include all required texts in the tuition. They are also accredited, so a federal student loan will cover the tuition.

I am finishing up with my 7th class with UoP. They finally set my graduation date - APril of 2006. The light at the end of the tunnel. Of course, I really do love the UoP BSN program, but hear wonderful things about your program as well.

I know exactly what you mean about math he** .... I just started MTH 208 this past Thursday. So far it seems ok, but math is not my favorite subject at all. Hey, wonder if we are in the same class. Whatever the case, good luck. Graduation is getting closer .... YEA!!!!!!:yelclap:

I am in week four of 208- trust me, it doesn't get any better. Since the classes are only 5 weeks long it makes it very hard for anything to sink in. This has been my hardest class so far. I have 209, stats, the rest of my nursing, and then 9 credits of upper division. Once I complete all of the math classes I will feel like I am on the downhill side. Are you planning on going on after you get your BSN? Earning my BSN won't "do" anything for me as far as more money or a promotion at work. I need it to go on for my MSN. I have learned a lot though but am now totally broke-LOL

If it helps ... I hear that 209 is easier. Oh well, I am like you and just want to get this math done! I have 5 more classes after 209 and stats and then I will also go on for my MSN. I am planning on teaching after I get the BSN, but it is certainly not a promotion, just the ability to do what I want to do career wise. As far as broke .... I can totally relate to that. Love UoP, but will be paying off student loans until I turn 90. Oh well, the cost of the higher learning, I guess. Good luck.
