Your First Job....

My first job in nursing was ICU/CCU in a smallish hospital, and I stayed there 10 years. That was 36 years ago!

My first RN position was at a nursing home located 25 miles from my home. It was a part-time weekend night shift position. I only stayed part-time for a few months before changing my status to PRN/per diem.

To be totally honest, this job really sucked. Otherwise, I would have remained working at this place much longer than I did.

I did GYN surg/oncology at a major teaching medical center. I stayed a year, didn't realize how great it had it because I thought I wanted a different specialty.
