I had an interview last Thursday and was told I would receive a call late this week. Today is

Agreed. Always good to call them if you don't hear back. If you call them, it shows you're truly interested in the position and they'll be more likely to want to hire you. And sometimes they may have just forgotten and needed a reminder :)

It's Friday before a holiday week end. People are trying to wrap up their week, and prepare for only being there 4 days next week.

Go ahead and call, but if you don't get an answer today, don't worry too much about it. That's just the way it is a lot of the time.

Called and HR stated that the manager hadnt given any decisions yet. HOPE THEY weren't just lying to me

When they make a decision, they will let you know one way or another. Either they will call you & you got the job or they won't call you. But don't call too much because that could cost you the job.

I just called the once. I won't call again. My app status hasn't changed so I guess that's good
