Worried Sick

I found this board today after coming home from taking the NCLEX. I wanted to know how others felt after they took their exam. This site has been incredibly insightful. At least I know I'm not alone! I feel as though I could just vomit! I graduated in Dec. and all my instructors said to take the exam soon after graduation, that it was the best way. I took their advice. We'll see what happens. I am supposed to start work in the ICU of a hospital nearby on Monday and now my heart won't stop pounding! This is just horrible! My test stopped at 75. I wanted to know how many people had failed at 75 but can't seem to find that info. I am praying my results will be ready by Saturday but I won't hold my breath.

Sorry, you guys don't even know me but I am losing my mind over here! Being 5 months pregnant certainly doesn't help the situation! :)

Anyway...

Congratulations to all of you who have passed!!! It gives me hope! :) I just pray I get good news! You that have passed are awsome! Thank you for sharing your good news! :)

Good luck! Let us know how you did! I'm taking the NCLEX on Tuesday and am pretty stressed!

All of your thoughts and feelings are normal. While it's been quite a while since I have taken my boards I can remember thinking that time was standing still, and that I would have a nervous collapse before I got the results. Try to calm down. Take some deep breaths, think of that wonderful little baby and relax. Best of luck to you in every aspect of your life. :Melody:

Thank you both!

:) I will let you know as soon as I find out something :)

I just took and passed the NCLEX-PN with the minimum no. of questions and I felt exactly the same way after I took it. I was confident going into the boards, but it was so unlike what I expected that I had post test anxiety the entire two days until I found out I passed. I felt certain I had failed. Everyone in my class who has taken it has said the exact same thing, so it is very common to feel this way. I'll tell you what I kept being told "85% of first time takers pass"! Odds are great that you did, too.

oh my gosh, I just wrote the same thing - but I'm worse - I WENT TO 265! Oh my gosh I am freaking out too - I wish you all the best, I guess we just need to relax. I must say I am really proud of you for getting through all of this while being pregnant - you will be a SUPER MOM/NURSE!!!!!

Thanks you guys for helping me know I am not alone. I swear the waiting is what kills you! LOL I never knew anxiety like this! It's sick! I keep peeking back to the pearson website in hopes that maybe my results will be available early, but to no avail :( Wishful thinking on my part. I have to get away from this computer and go do something productive. I am already enrolled in the Master's program at my school for Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and could be doing work in the class I am taking now, but I am too worried to even THINK! Guess my housecleaning idea is going to have to do for now. I wish you both luck! I am sure you did fine and that we will all have passed but the worry won't stop until we know. I'm just so glad to know I am not alone. Thanks again for posting! :)

Hang in there!! :yeah:

I was in your shoes early this week and beleive me I know the sick feeling you are having now :uhoh3: I thought there was no way I could pass that test because it was sooooo hard. Keep the faith. I will pray for you and look foward to hearing you post your good news. Best wishes.

Get a little sleep and hang in there. There is something I guess we have to learn from suffering through this anxiety. Been there, wish ya the best.

When I took my boards the computer shut off at 85, I walked out of there feeling like the dumbest person on the face of the earth. My hubby asked how I did and said "I'll be taking it again". But I passed with flying colors. So my advice to you is...just breath, you aren't the only one to go through this. Good luck! :)
