Working In Texas

HI,

I am new to this sight and not sure exactly how it all works. I am relocating to Dallas Texas area and was wondering if someone could give me some information on what it is like there in the nursing profession?:)

Can't give you specifics on Dallas, but if you haven't applied to the Texas BON, do it as soon as possible, as they take their time, per other threads here. It is better to have your license in hand then have to wait for it.

If you're licensed in MD as your primary, then you don't need a Texas license, since it is included in the Compact States. Good Luck..

If you're going to be a Texas resident, then you need a Texas license. My original license is in Texas, and everytime I have needed to re-instate it, it has only taken me less than two weeks to do so. Texas is one of the easier states to deal with. Make sure you send in everythiing you need at one time, and you should have no problems getting your license.

Although I worked in Dallas a good while ago...I'm sure you will enjoy working there.

Thanks for the information. Does anyone know if the forensic nurse examiners certification is regulated through the board of nursing in Texas? I haven't been able to find anything relating to that on the web.
