Will a phlebotomy certification help me get a job as an RN in the future?

I'm a third semester nursing student and I'm considering taking a phlebotomy class at my local community college over the summer to better my knowledge about IV insertion. Basically, I'm just wondering if this certification will better my resume when I graduate nursing school or if it will just be better preparation for me. Also, are there any other certifications I can get while in school to increase my chances of getting a job after graduation. (I already have my CNA)

Isn't venipuncture & IV Therapy already included in your curriculum? If so, this would not add any value for you. Hospital orientation generally includes confirmation of your skills & additional training about their specific processes, specimen labeling, etc.

At my school, you can schedule time in the lab to practice IV's and IM injections (you can schedule time in the lab for anything, but those seem to be the most popular so they are specifically addressed on the labs' doors). We almost always see someone in a corner of the lab with an instructor practicing. Maybe you could also schedule some practice time in the lab.
