Will I get hired

Hi everyone, I wanted to know if anyone has any input for me. Here is my story in a nut shell. I served in the USN for 8 years as a Hospital Corpsman. I got out with an honerable discharge. I went to nursing school and have been an RN in a private hospital for the last 12 years. I would like to get back to my vets so I have recently applied to the VA hospital. I applied back in June and was called in August for an interview. A week later I heard from the HR department (atleast I am assuming it was HR). They called me to ask for more references. It has been three weeks and I have not heard back from them yet. I did apply using my 5 points vet preference. I am starting to get nervous thinking I didn't get the job and I really want it. Does anyone have any input for me about this? Thanks so much!

Be patient. The process with any government agency is very sloooow. You could try calling HR for an update, though. Good luck!

Thanks guys! I appreciate the support. Does anyone think it is strange that they called three of my references but not the others?

No. Maybe they only need to call three. Read back in the VA Hiring Process thread and you will see that the VA can take a long time to hire. And all VAs handle things differently. Good luck.
