Here is the place to give yourself a hand! We do so much and here's the place you get to brag about it!
Today I ran late in my rounds and yet still, because I'm getting Jedi-like in my knowledge of our residents, got all the people who like to go to bed early in bed early. The rest, who like to stay up anyhow, didn't care that I was late.
I helped out on other people's floors, found people to help when I couldn't, and the fact that I called an on-call Doctor means that one of our residents who's healing a broken bone now has a PRN for pain when before she had none.
I helped someone get sent out to the ER today who turned out to have a "major sprain". Also the mini-therapy session with a coworker I made time for yesterday worked and they are no longer slamming things around and scaring coworkers but instead were pleasant and funny today! I rock!
YOUR TURN!:)

I work hard. When my coworkers spend half of the night standing at the nurses station talking, I am off in my rooms taking care of my residents. The residents are better off for it.

I rock because when my shift began all of my patients were telling me they haven't had a bath in 3-4 days so on my shift every single one of them got a shower and they loved it! (I was wore out by the end of the day!)
Yay for you, and EWWWW for your coworkers!

I rock because I never (and I am dead serious - I mean NEVER) tell a coworker "no" when they ask for help. If I can't help right away because I'm tied up with something, I tell them I'll be 5, 10 minutes or whatever, but I never refuse to help someone.
Also, I rock because I take extra time making sure everybody's hair looks nice, and I always dig around looking for scented lotion or spray to make them smell pretty too.
I use my smile all the time with the residents, and make small talk with them during their care. Being friendly/cheerful makes such a difference.....

I rock because I work hard up until the minute I leave...and I take the time to converse with my residents and do their nails and maintain as much happiness as I can with my resources.

I rock because I'm one of the few CNAs at my hospital that actually gives a crap about skin integrity and pt comfort and hygiene! GO ME and YAY for my pts! :} I love this thread, btw!
