Which Saunders?

Just finished Kaplan's book- great, but a short book. I'm currently doing practice tests in Lippincott's q and a, and just ordered q and a's from incredibly easy series! (I WILL pass the 1st time!)

Anyhow, I hear Saunders is excellent. I found several books, though, including q and a, and a comprehensive review with cd rom. What would you suggest? Thanks

I have the Comprehensive Review from Saunders. That's the one that is moslty recommended. Good Luck

I used the Q&A from Saunders. I really liked it. I didn't use Saunders Review book. If you already have a NCLEX Review book, you should be fine. I used the RN comprehensive NCLEX book by Nursing Educators. I loved this book!! I highly recommend it!!!

Good luck preparing!

I just gradusted in May and took my exam on the 9th of August. I began studying a little over a month before my exam I used the comprehensive review book and read it cover to cover. I did take on Kaplan test and got a 72% on it. Saunders was great for picking out the bullet points of all topics so I didn't have to use multiple sources. I passed the NCLEX in 45 minutes with 75 questions. I left feeling like I had failed and even now really feel like I wasted time studying. My test was nearly all prioritizing questions I did not have one disease process question. It was a major challenge cut I feel that school is truly what prepared me and not my last minutes studying. Saunders is the book that I would recommend due to it covering everything in easy to understand and short chapters. It was easy to set a goal of a certain number of pages and questions a night and sticking to it. Best of luck to you!

bump

I have the Saunders Review ISBN 0721603475 and I love it even for help with my classes, but I am a while away from NCLEX yet.

BUT my friend who just took it (and passed with 75 ?'s) said that she thought it was too easy, as in not in-depth enough & that she recommends the one from NSNA based on her experience. She said that she felt like the questions were much harder than what the Saunders book went over. I just talked with her about it today, thought I'd pass on her advice FWIW. :)

My friend has questions on cd that you listen to. I plan on listening to that in the car all semester on my way to and from school. I'm also taking a 3 day class offered through the hospital. That, combined with my many books should hopefully pass me at minimum competency! :chuckle
