I checked out the Kaplan review book with CD from my local library and found it exceptionally helpful. I passed my boards with 75 questions using only that study guide.

I would suggest going with Kaplan. I compeleted ALL of the questions in the Qbank and Question Trainers. I reviewed all of my questions and rationales and passed on my first try with 75 questions.. Good Luck!!

Hey there!
I just took the NCLEX in September and passed with 75 questions. I took the Kaplan review course (yes, it is expensive but WORTH it) and the NCSBN on line study tool as well. It was not cheap to do both, but I felt it was the reason I passed. To be honest with you, I would strongly encourage KAPLAN review class (don't just buy the book....pay for the review class and attend them). Kaplan helped me a TON and I would recommend it to anyone. It is much CHEAPER to pay the Kaplan rate and pass the NCLEX first time.
Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that I recommend the full Kaplan course. I have not heard of many people who were disappointed.
Good luck to you and I will keep my fingers crossed for you!

I've been with Kaplan since my Local Board Exam here in the Philippines, i took the exam just once and passed it. now i'm currently preparing for my CGFNS/NCLEX exam with Kaplan and i must say, they know what a comprehensive review really means. i hope to pass the exams like you guys did.

I know the above posters had success with Kaplan but I just wanted to inform you that I did not. I attend the classes and took the question trainers the 1st time and did not pass. I reviewed content with their online review course and completed ALL the questions in the Qbank the 2nd time and did not pass. This doesn't work for everyone! Also, in nursing school, my program had us do ATI - which I did not find helpful either. For the 3rd time, I have reviewed using the Saunder's Comprehensive Review for NCLEX-RN book (4th edition) and I am completing Suzanne's plan (info in the sticky at the top of the NCLEX forum) right now. Hopefully this will work!! Good luck with whatever you choose!!

Hi! I've heard of NCSBN and my classmates who took it said that the actual content review was tedious and boring, but they appreciated the practice with the questions. I took Kaplan and did every single question (entire qbank and all of the trainers).
Like I've said in other posts, no study guide/program/book is going to make the NCLEX seem like a piece of cake. But in all honesty, when I was taking the boards I thought I was failing because I thought my questions were too easy for me to be doing well. And when my test turned off at 75, I was like oh crap! But I passed. I think it was because the Kaplan questions were tough, and so after hearing that the NCLEX questions were sooooooo incredibly hard from my classmates, I didn't realize that I was just used to hard questions because that is what I had been studying with, if that makes sense.
Anyway, you'll likely feel like dirt when you walk out there no matter what! My advice is to to get the Saunders book which is excellent content review, and do Kaplan which will you get ready for the difficulty level that you'll need to be at. Also, I did the entire qbank first and then did the trainers-that, I believe, really helped me see if I was ready for the boards.
Good luck!

:redbeathedear redheadnurse08,
i have to say "i can not agree you any more."
my experise with you similar about kaplan course. so i think that every review course didn't work for everyone!
before you buy, you have to compair and thinking. don't just consider "prise". i did not get suzanne's plan yet. but after i seen suzanne's plan' first tips, i think that i can understand that nursing knowledge is power.
