Which Fish oil

MY doctor told me that fish oils will not really lower my triglycerides but it will help (at least to a certain degree )

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

There are tons of different brands out there, and i dont know which one is better or which is the best one to buy.

My triglycerides have come way down on a fish oil regimen over the last year. My HDL chol. has come up, too.

I use Carlson's fish oil capsules. I've also used Super EPA 2000 capules in the past. I've only really heard suspect things about Costco's fish oil capsules.

So I'm on 5000mg of omega 3 fish oil capsule/day, with 800 IU of vitamin E which I was advised to take while I'm on the fish oil regimen. Can't remember specifically why.

I just went to several seminars on lowering lipids. One of the speakers highly recommended either Twinlabs or Trader Joe's brands as being the best for the least amount of contaminates and the best quality.

... Carlson's fish oil caps...

They have a great rep.

Keep in mind, fish often are contaminated with heavy metals. According to Dr. Barry Sears (of the Zone Diet) get the Omega 3 / 6 combo that is Pharmaceutical quality. Of course, his brand (see the zone diet website which is full of great and free info) has their own brand.

I have purchased Dr Michael Murray's Pharmaceutical Grade EPA 400mg/DHA 200 at a slightly lower cost. I have also purchased Omega 6 with a flax combo.

Dr. Sears books are excellent on this important component on lowering cholesterol and sound health.

I hope this info helps.

night ;)
