Which day is postop day 1?

Silly question but what is considered postop day 1? If surgery was 0600 today, is tomorrow day 1 or today?

    24 hours would be 0600 tomorrow, so I believe post op day 1 is then. I'm a student, so curious to see what pros say. :)

    Day of surgery counts as day 0, so first postop day is the first day after the surgery. When in doubt, just give the date of surgery in your nursing note, e.g., "Date: 12/12/2013. Status post appendectomy 12/10/2013."
