Where to work

I am about to graduate nursing school with my BSN in May and I don't know where to work. I was wondering if anyone had any feedback about hospitals in the NYC/Northern New Jersey area. I have no idea where to go. I was thinking about Memorial Sloan in the city, but it's salary pay. NYU is too and I hear that salary is not the best way to go for a staff nurse position. Can anyone suggest hospitals with good nurse to patient ratios and good salaries for me to look into? General good places to work? All the hospitals brag and say they're the best, but I want to know from the nurses.

I am not from that area so I could give no input. Something that has perplexed many people, myself included, is when you are seeking employment and apply at many places around the same time: (assuming you get multiple offers around the same time; sometimes it happens) whose offer do you accept? First come, first get or wait for the one you lean toward the most? While you are starting the process you might want to think about this and come up with the strategy that you will follow. Good luck. Hope you get a good position on your first offer!
