Hey everyone!
Just wondering where all the Medical Assistants are at? How are you guys doing in your career? Do you have jobs? Are you certified? Just checkin in with the MAs...As for me I graduated in 2010 and I just became nationallly certified, but haven't found a job. Hopefully I move soon to San Francisco because I have noticed more MAs are in need there..
So yeah! Just kind of like a MA Check IN. I also wanted to know how many MAs want to become a nurse like me and have you began your journey?

Hello. I'm a CMA. I'm currently unemployed but in school for Nursing. Where I live there is a MA surplus and jobs are competitive. I will be volunteering at a hospital next week, and next summer I will be taking a CNA class because my school decided to make it a requirement.

I completed a MA program at a trade school back in 2000 when I was 19 years of age. I was never able to land a job with my training.
I completed an LVN program in 2005 and worked as an LVN for 4 years before earning my RN license. I have been an RN for 2 years.
Nice to hear from all of you! I just got emailed for an interview finally! lol After applying everywhere forever! lol I have an interview Thursday at a OB/GYN/Peds clinic. Wish me luck! And good luck to you guys on everything your pursuing! We will make it!
I love to hear about MAs pursing Nursing and MAs who have already became Nurses because it's the path I am going down! Thanks for the comments.:)
Congrats on the interview. I hope you get the job. I've applied everywhere in my county and the surrounding areas and only got interviews. I wish you well. I would have lived an OB or Peds job.

Completed my m.a. In 2004 have not found a job since then and working on my bachelor degree I'n psych and pre reqs for bsn. San Francisco excellent pay , many jobs . Better than inland empire but cost of living high. Hoping to move there after my BSN. Good luck !
Thank you. And I wish you luck on your search. It will come...it's really hard in my county thats why when I got a call back I was saying pleeeeeeeease let me get this because who knows when another chance will come...
Yeah I'm from the bay. I have lived in Sacramento for almost 2 years now..I am so ready to go back. I have looked no craigslist and seen many jobs in San Fran and that is where I truly want to live. And yes I have heard they do have excellent pay especially in the financial district
Thanks, but I have given up on finding a MA job here in Michigan. My husband has a good paying job so I don't have to work while attending school. In the meantime I'm focusing on being and volunteering at a hospital until I go back to school July 10. Going to Nursing school will be hard with MA hours.
Yes I agree. But unfortunately my situation is totally opposite than yours...the father of my children has no job...says hes trying but...I don't see that happening and so I have to work but I wanna work anyway. But yeah the hours plus nursing school is going to be dangerous..lol
