Where to go and live?

Published

HI, well its happening again my wife is being transfered to Dallas Texas for her business. So I dont remember Dallas, i have lived in Arlington when i was 3 years old, iam 39 now. I have three teens and they are kool with moving can you believe that, iam so lucky. I have been a nurse in Austin for 3 years in critical care, IMC/Telemetry. Could anyone give me an idea where would be a great place to work and a great place to find a home, and a descent hourly wage expectation. I heard Baylor is a great hospital to be affiliated with, is this true.

:smokin::confused::yeah:

As far as living is concerned, many people have good things to say about the suburbs located north of Dallas such as Lewisville, Flower Mound, Plano, Frisco, Allen, McKinney, etc.

The area hospitals include Baylor Dallas, Parkland, Dallas Presbyterian, Methodist Dallas, Methodist Charlton, Baylor Irving, Baylor Grapevine, Kindred, and a few others that I have certainly forgotten to mention.

I agree with The Commuter. However, when moving up here try to move after you get your job, I moved where I would be against traffic and my commute was only 20 min. Had I been with traffic it would have been almost an hour. McKinney has a lot of "New" hospital buildings going up and there is always the giant Children's medical center, but you probably don't want to live too close to Childrens.

I have a family member who bought a house in Arlington. It is on a hilly street and it is a beautiful neighborhood worth checking out. The houses are all different levels and very interesting.

I live in Fort Worth but, if I could turn back time, I would have moved to Arlington. The city has nice neighborhoods, well kept subdivisions, easy freeway access, plenty of high quality shopping, and offers a very convenient location for commuters. Arlington is located 18 miles from downtown Dallas and 12 miles from downtown Fort Worth, so a commuter could basically work in any city without having to endure too long of a drive.
