When to start UWorld and preparing for NCLEX

I graduated 12/5, purchased UWorld around NYE, took NCLEX today. Shut off at 75 with good pop up. In school, my ATI comprehensive score gave me 99% chance of passing NCLEX.

I graduated 12/13/16. I was using uWorld since my second semester of RN school, and continued using it as the main tool to study for the boards which I passed in January of this year.

I am currently in my fifth semester and graduate in May. I want to take the NCLEX as soon as possible and I want to use UWorld. My school makes us do the virtual ATI and the ATI Capstone through out this semester and we've done ATI exams through the whole program. Do you think doing just UWorld will be enough? And how early did you start UWorld? I'm tempted to go ahead and buy a six month subscription because I feel like it would help me prepare for finals and our ATI exams and Predictor (Which is pass or fail for us if we don't make 85% or above)but i don't want to start too early and run out of questions. Any advice will be appreciated!

I graduated 12/17/16 and bought into UWorld on January 7th. I test this upcoming week. I honestly think 6 months is too much time for UWorld, but that's my opinion. There are 1952 questions and if you break it down--doing 75 questions/day amounts to 26 days. Plus, you also get the self-assessment, which is 75 questions (take it closer to your test date). My Kaplan instructor recommended sets of 75 questions per set (makes sense, though, right? Minimum # of questions on NCLEX is 75, so might as well do 75 at a time--plus you can always pause the test and come back to it later) so I applied that same concept to UWorld.

I'm finding that I spend about 2.5-3 hours for each set of 75 I do. I have been utilizing tutor mode so I review each question--right and wrong--right away. The rationales are more in-depth than Kaplan and they are great! I'm not sure what ATI is like, but everyday I would do 150 questions from Kaplan and 75 questions from UWorld. On days I didn't do questions, I would do the Kaplan question trainers and about a week apart.

I graduated in December and began studying the middle of January. I took my NCLEX the 24th (studied for two weeks) and passed with 75 questions! I was very motivated though and completed their entire QBANK and did 150-225 questions a day. I also utilized Kaplan after I completed Uworld during my last 3-4 days.

This is good information. How did you use it during nursing school? I'm currently on my 1/4 semester.

My view is that you begin preparing for the NCLEX from day one of nursing school. That being said, I began casually studying (Saunder's & Nclex Mastery App) 7 months before graduation. About 2 months before I began more intensive and focused sessions in my spare time. One week after graduation, I purchased a 3 week NCSBN QBank and took my test 2 weeks after finishing the 3 week qbank. ( I casually studied Saunder's and Nclex Mastery during the 2 week wait). It paid off though, passed in 85 questions.
