I suppose it wouldn't hurt to start now. However, where I live, most employers won't bother looking at you if you have not passed NCLEX and have your license in hand. When do you plan to take NCLEX?
I actually just filled out an app for the hospital that I work for, thanks. Hopefully I will be able to take it before Christmas.
I'm sure it varies places to places. If jobs are competitive then they will probably skip over your application. If not that's different. It also depends on where you are applying, some places will take a GN on the condition that you pass. Basically you need to know where you are applying too.
Having an "in" with a hospital like you do is a HUGE advantage, good luck!
Have read too many instances where someone had a job lined up, then they failed NCLEX. I would be all prepared, ready to go, then as soon as I have found out that I passed NCLEX, head on out on the job hunt. You don't have to have the license in hand, as they verify electronically, etc. They will ask you to bring in the physical license once you receive it, if you get hired in the meantime. Good luck.

I graduate from my LPN program in less than two weeks. I was wondering when is the best time to start job hunting?
