Hello All,

I am graduating in December 08. Can anyone recommend when I should apply for licensure? Should I go ahead and send the application and the $$$ to the Florida BON now, or should I wait until the school has sent my name to the BON? I am wanting to sit for NCLEX as soon as possible, so I just dont know if I should apply now, or wait for the school to send the info. The school hasnt really been a big help on advising for this.

Thanks for any advice

I'm in the same boat. I have the forms already filled out. I'm wanting to take the NCLEX ASAP. Does anyone know how long it takes for the paperwork to clear?

I'm in Texas, so it may be different in Florida...I graduate in December and I registered with Pearson Vue back in August. I'm good to go as soon as they get my info from the school. Hope that helps. :nurse:

Our class filled them all out about a month before graduation, I got my ATT before graduation which was June 14th and I tested July 13th, we did the application and everything online which sped up the process ALOT, a few from our class had to mail in the old fashioned way and it delayed their ATT and NCLEX by a good 2 weeks

I went ahead and did mine last night. Online.

Your school should advise you on this. What do your instructors say? This should be routine for most schools and students and you shouldn't have any drama associated with it. You won't get a sit pass without your school's information.

Thank you to everyone that replied. I'm going to send out the application next week.

Tweety, it's complicated. I will PM you.

Thanks!

Good luck to all of you! You are taking a giant step into the world of medicine. I have been an RN for 12 years and enjoy seeing new RN's joining us. My advice is this, whether it is asked for or not, as far as the NCLEX is concerned the test one of you might take is not the same as someone else. If you can take a prep class before you take the NCLEX then do it. I am from Ohio. In 1996, we were the second class to ever take the test online in Ohio. When you computer shuts down during your test, don't freak out, it just means you are done. It will give you every opportunity to pass it. Don't read more into the questions than what is already there. Just answer the question as is. Again, Good Luck!
