What's a 5-2 split?

Just looking at some job openings for the hospital I'm going to interview at this week - and I have no clue what this is - I know I'm probably being stupid about this, but could somebody help me out?

Should be eight hour shifts, with five days on and two off per week. So essentially a forty hour work week.

The split part can mean that you have to float between two different shifts. Best thing is just to ask because there can be so many different answers to this.
