Oct 30, 2025Oct 30 Has anyone gone to test but they didn't do a split specimen like it says on the form and the lab tech only filled one container?
Oct 30, 2025Oct 30 No, but the technician doing my specimens always forget to check the box for "observed,” and I have to keep on top of him every time! I am sure the split part will be on him in your case, but always make sure to stay on top of the techs!
Oct 30, 2025Oct 30 Author Yes I for sure am going forward! The tech told me it's just one so I figured they knew what they were doing. I hope my monitoring program doesn't fault me for this. The receipt they gave me has split specimen checked off as if they collected a split so hopefully they'll just see it as a lab error. If anyone's gone through this or similar please give input!
Oct 30, 2025Oct 30 Was this today? I'd go test again today. We're responsible for the sample being collected correctly
Oct 30, 2025Oct 30 Agree. I would test again today and if you can't test today, test tomorrow AM and tell your case manager what happened. Do NOT wait for your case manager to be blindsided 5 days later. Write an email (put what happened in writing), then call. It helps that you at least submitted a sample, bit I would pee again today and if you can't pee today, go tomorrow morning.
Nov 5, 2025Nov 5 Author Update: I didn't do a retest or notify my cm because I wanted to see what happens as this was the first time something like this has happened. My negative results came back over the weekend and it's now Wednesday and I still haven't heard from my case manager about this so I assume everything's good until I hear otherwise.
Nov 6, 2025Nov 6 Glad it went well. Maybe the second sample is to test in case there's a positive with the first?
Nov 19, 2025Nov 19 I had two samples collected incorrectly in TPAPN and my case manager said it was on them and wouldn't negatively affect me.
