Whats the process for being eligible to work in the US?

Published

Hi! Im a fresh graduate from the Philippines.. Im planning to take the NCLEX exam by September or October..Hopefully if I pass the exam, what should be my next step? I heard that the english exam such as the TOEFL is only valid for 2 years and you should have a visa by then or retake the exam.. what is the process for obtaining a visa?

Thank you so much..

sweetie,

there's currently a nursing glut in some parts of this country. There's also the talk of retrogression. Not familiar with that but you'll find info on that if you search this forum.

Best wishes.

first you have to lok for the states you wnat to practise and see there requirments for you to be eligibble to sit for NCLEX, hmm for the current retrogression takes years. if your planning to take this sept or oct that would be hard since the minimum aproval of eligibility take 4 to 6mons. take some experience first

You must apply to a BON and get their permission to sit for the NCLEX exam, it is only one part of the licensing process. And you will need to pass the English exams as well as have a Visa Screen Certificate in hand as well.

Please read the threads that were mentioned above for much information that you need to be aware of including the fact that there is a wait of more than five years or so for a chance at a green card and working in the US.
