I have been looking into travel nursing, and as a rookie, I am not sure if this is a good deal or not.
In Connecticut there is an opening for med/surg, night shift, that will pay me (a traveler) $30/hr, plus housing and utilities. The sign-on bonus is $500, and is the contract is extended beyond 13 weeks, I will get another $250.
The agency claims that I won't have to report anything at the end of the year about the free housing/utilities, but I will have to report my bonuses.
I have been a nurse for 2.5 years and work the night shift as a regular employee and I make close to 30/hr.
Does this sound 'off' to you travel mavens? I was under the assumption that travelers made, like, a lot more than that.
