What study Material do you use for studying EC Nsg??

I have used Lisa Arends guides, studygroup101's and the practice EC exams. Despite this- I did not do so well on the transitions exam. This has led me to wonder what others who ARE doing well in the program are using to study. Thanks and have a great day!

hey diana,

i recommend you to buy the saunders nclex-rn comprehensive review. their awesome. then when you study the nursing exams, you just read whatever sections/topics in saunders and do all the nclex questions (from the cd).

plus, when the time comes for the nclex, you will be so ready.

Thanks Angel! You have been such a help-- I appreciate your advice!

Oh Diana, sorry to hear you didn't do as well as you had hoped for Transitions :( I did the worst on my first exam, I think a lot of it is nerves and getting used to the style questions they use. As for what I used, for health safety and differences I read the Fundamentals text and reviewed areas I wasn't strong in with the mystudygroup notes. I also used the mystudygroup practice tests which were great. For transitions, I basically went line for line with the content guide and followed lisa arends notes. I used the texts as backup when I couldn't find something in the notes or it wasn't clear. For all 3 exams I used the practice exams and read over each question and the rationals for the right AND the wrong answers.

Now I'm going to be taking reproductive health and I don't know where to start!! To me, each test is so different that it requires a different appraoch. What test are you taking next? Now that you have one under your belt and know what it's like, you'll do better on the next one. :)

I ordered the textbooks for transitions (3 of them) and I plan on studying big time. Next I dont know- I was thinking Health Safety or Chronicity?? I need to decide....

Health Safety really wasn't too bad, I should have done better on it then I did!! I don't have the books for Chronicity, that might be the last one for me!

Hi Diana,

I bought the textbooks for Transitions, as well, but I'm not sure if I will continue to buy them as I progress. I also ordered the StudyGroup 101 notes.

Good luck on your exams! :nuke:
