I'm actually getting ALL the pre-req's done, for both LPN and RN, before i enter the LPN program. My step-sister, who is a nurse, reccommended it.

Maricopa Community College pre-requs:

Introductory or General Biology or one year high school biology

There is a 2-3 semester wait lest (depending on what college your trying to get into)

Pre-reqs for the school I applied to, Central Carolina Tech:

- SAT (minimum Verbal 510 and Math 510) or ACT (minimum 22 composite)

- Completion and grade of C or higher in high school or college prep courses in biology and chemistry

- GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale in Health Sciences Preparatory certificate (Must complete Biology 210, (Anatomy and Physiology I), English 101, (English Composition I), and MAT 101, (Beginning Algebra), with a "C" or higher PRIOR to admission application to clinical nursing courses (NUR 101, 106).

Arizona State University requires 17 pre-req's for consideration into their Nursing Program.

Seven prereqs: Micro, Anatomy, Physiology, OChem, Sociology, Psychology and Speech.

Health care experience: at least 60 hours as a volunteer or any hands-on experience work related to healthcare.

Must score over 75 on TEAS.

This is a point-system, so all these have points that equal to 77 possible, with minimum cutoff being around 64-65 points. Once you gain acceptance into the program, you must have:

Hep B (3 series)

Polio (3 series)

Tetorifice (3 series)

Completed BLS for Healthcare Providers course good for at least one year of nursing school before renewal.

At my univesity we have five pre-req classes I am in a BSN program at a somewhat large University:

English

There is huge list of other classes/things that have to be done before you graduate but admission is based on your GPA in those 5 pre-req classes and on your TEAS test.

Yea I don't take that class until I get into the nursing program.
