Hey everyone,
So almost four weeks ago, I interviewed for a job. I promptly sent a thank-you email.
I called yesterday for an update with the recruiter. The manager I interviewed with was out sick for a week and supposedly hasn't come up with a decision.
I'm getting very stir crazy regarding the position and I'm now almost certain that I didn't get it. Should I send the manager an email telling her that I am still interested or just assume that I didn't get the job and HR is yanking my chain?
Thanks.

If it has been four weeks, I don't see anything wrong with sending an email inquiring about their decision. Just say that you interviewed nearly a month ago, and still haven't heard anything. You are still very interested in the job, and are just curious as to whether they have made a decision. It's not like you have anything to lose by asking.

Send the email.
I've had two jobs where the manager took forever to seal the deal, and I myself sometime take longer than I'd like to before extending an offer.
Hang in there, but keep looking until you have an offer.
Do you think it would be going over the recruiter's head to email the manager?

Did the manager give you their direct contact information? If so contact. If you have to detective the facility website to find contact info, not the greatest idea
I sent it. Wish me luck!
Yes she did. She gave me her card. I just sent an email.
Good luck. Maybe your follow up contact will push the offer in your favor!
