At each nurses station there is one person with the initials HUC on their ID's where there are usually a RN, LPN, CNA, MD or such. Does anybody know?

Hospital Unit Coordinator-- ie unit clerk, unit secretary. Never heard the term in the last 17 yrs until I came to the current hospital I work in.

As a HUC in my facility, it stands for Health Unit Coordinator. Exactly what rjflyn explained. It's a great opportunity to get into the field of nursing. While you don't have any direct patient contact, it'll give you an opportunity to see if you want to go further. Also, you are a valuable part of the team, especially when it comes to the documenting part of nursing. We use computerized charting and my experience will help me greatly when I finish school and become an RN.
