What do you guys think?

Ok guys...

I've already posted this under another forum.. but I haven't gotten much response..so I thought I might try my luck here for more replies... (hope no one minds)....

I'm basically currently at a job now where I just finished orientation and.... it's really not working out. I don't really enjoy working there, I have issues with the way that this place is managed/run..and basically I feel like everytime I clock in their is a medication/other potiental error waiting to happen.

I'm a fairly new nurse, with 6months PACU/ and roughly 6 months telemetry experience. I just recently moved, ( I am a army wife) and it took forever to find the job I am at know. (which is telemetry)

My prior intentions were to go back into PACU or some type of surgical setting; however there really wasn't alot for me to choose from.

And since I'm relatively new to this job a) I don't want to burn any bridges b) wouldn't know how to go about finding a job without my most recent employer finding out. Basically, I would want to make a new job transition the smoothest as possible...

ANY comments, thoughts, are greatly appreciated!!!

There was a recent article in the "Army Times" about employment issues faced by military spouses. Perhaps someone in your husband's unit could help you find a more satisfactory job.

Hi,

For more responses consider a more informative title for your posts. :) Since you had a hard time getting this job I would not quit unless you are totally miserable and can afford to be out of work. Good luck.

Since jobs are hard to come by these days, I wouldn't walk away from this one very fast. Bide your time. Chalk it up to building experience for your resume. Meanwhile, be on the lookout for something. But don't just quit. At least don't quit until you have a good amount of experience, so that it doesn't look as if you are a job hopper who can't hold a job. Not everyone will think that moving around from job to job is because of your husband's military service. Good luck.

since you said it took you forever to find this job, i wouldn't be so quick to leave the position. i would try and get a feel for another unit, maybe float or sign up for overtime on another unit? and go from there. good luck!

i was in a similar position when i graduated from school. the unit seemed great until i really got my feet wet. i stayed there for the mandatory 6 months and then transferred to an open heart surgical unit. i love it there... i sometimes pick up extra shifts on my old unit and EVERY TIME it just validates why i left. lol

take care
