What Do You Know About MRSA ?

Hello All,

I am a school nurse of elementary age children. I have a student who has had repeated bouts of MRSA on the buttocks area. She has been hospitalized in the past and had multiple surgeries to incise and drain the areas in question.

I have had orders from her physician that she may be in school as long as her lesions are covered and not obviously draining. My question is...because I am unfamiliar with MRSA, I need any info you can let me in on about this condition.

I am not asking for medical advice...only any info. that you can share with me about MRSA. Thank you all very much.
