I have been working as an LPN for over 2 years in an acute care hospital on the med-surg floor! I, obviously, have plenty of experience from being in a med-surg floor. I graduated from the LPN-RN bridge program in May 2009 and just took boards and passed!! I have decided to look for other opportunites in the medical field.
I applied for an RN position in a clinic which stated a competitive salary for new grads so I went ahead and applied for the position. I got a call back and went for an interview. After 4 hours of my time completely wasted, all I end up finding out is that they were willing to pay me $2.00/hour more than what I make now as an LPN. My current job is offering me $6.00/hour more than what I make now!! Why is it that most positions always state "competitive pay" and in actuallity means different???.........................

Any ad that says pay is "competitive" is advertising that they are going to pay on the low end of the scale. I have learned that through years of IT job searching.
