What is the difference between call back and bonus pay?

I have been asking around but no one has been able to give me a clear answer. From my current understanding, I thought call back was when you were on call and you were called back.you get a certain amount of money while you on call and then you get paid time and a half when you do have to come in...however, how does that work when you know you need to come in because they are short?

This is something that will vary from facility to facility. You should consult your facility's policies.

For example, my facility does not offer bonus pay. Ever. However, for those of us who take call (not "don't come in, but we'll call you if we need you" call; this is the cover emergencies in the procedural areas call) get paid time and a half for a minimum of 2 hours.

Ok. Thanks I think I figured it out. Call Back you get paid time and half..and bonus you just get a lump sum and then time and half after you are have put in overtime.

It's pretty confusing. I don't intend to increase the complexity, but everyone should know that when overtime is computed, it's based on an amount that includes all of the 'extras' that were received for that pay period, not just the 'base' pay. This means that the payroll folks have to calculate this each pay period... and make adjustments as needed.

And still, varies from facility to facility, sometimes within same company. Always consult your employee handbook or HR dept
