What a day!

  • Guides

Returned to work after a weekend off and what a day it has been. made me think it must be a full moon but come to find out the moon is waxing right now and won't hit it's full glory until Thursday night.

Got report and found out that we have a particularly violent patient we all know well who assaulted two people on the street prior to coming to the hospital. Both victims ended up in the ER. Si why is this person on my unit and not in jail? Because the words "I'm going to kill myself" were uttered to the responding officers.

So today I was called a Fing C***, spit on and physically threatened before I could get meds ordered and patient ultimately went into restraints. Some days quitting drinking seems like a bad idea!

Sigh

Empathetic vibes sent your way, Hppy.

"My worst day sober wasn't as bad as my best day drinking", a 12 stepper once said.

I often think that we psych nurses perform a service for society, which is sometimes merely keeping the streets cleaned up a bit.

The best to you, Hppy!

Havent you heard? You can have the full moon affect on any given day when you work as a nurse!

Sorry you had such a horrible day, none of us deserve to be treated so horribly!!

Hope you have a better day tomorrow.

Just tp reassure my peeps here - Just a vent I am not jumping off the wagon.

I actually wondered if it was a full moon yesterday as well - but my day was considerably less spit-ridden and profane than yours was. Thank you for the perspective, Happy, as always.
