WGU - RN Program

Nursing Students Western Governors

Hi I currently in the process of applying for the Pre licensure RN program with in California. I know that it's very competitive here so I wanted to hear from anyone that has been accepted to the program at WGU. My current GPA in science is 3.0 and I still need to take my TEA's exam (I'm aiming for at least a 84%). My counselor is suggesting to retake one of my science courses to higher my GPA and quite honestly I'm trying to avoid retaking any of the courses, unless having a 3.0 GPA absolutely will lower my chances of getting accepted into the program. I'm a single mom of 2 and I'm just making ends meet. So having to pay to retake the course is a struggle. But if that's the only way I will get accepted then I have to make the means. If there is anyone that has possibly been accepted with a 3.0 GPA here in California for the Pre licensure RN Program can please let me know I would really appreciate it.

I think for CA it would be a good idea to retake the course. I heard it's pretty competitive. However, if that is not what you want to do I would just apppy see if you get in. If you don't, then something needs to change and maybe take his or her advice about the class.
