Happy birthday Tweety!

Ado I've tried low carb diets before, although I tend to prefer calorie counting

Stars I hope the knee isn't giving you any more trouble

Hi Dianah

Yesterday was calmer at work, even though I got a new case and had to work on the side project. After work did the grocery shopping for the week and exercised. Have begun looking into stuff to do for my Madison trip in October, in case my cousin decides to do along. If she doesn't I'll plan a more simple trip. Will likely email her today to see if she's interested

Nothing really to do today after work except exercise. Work itself should be pretty ordinary, except for some time spent on the side project

Much cooler today, in the low 60s

Good morning. Happy birthday Tweety!

We will be off to volunteer in the demo garden soon. Then I am taking my laptop to sis's house so that she can do a telehealth visit. Then I am stopping by a volunteer who saves and packages seeds to distribute to the public. I monitor the display and donation box for her at our local library.

Eldest ds may be discharged from the hospital today. He had his surgery late Monday night, and was up and walking yesterday. I bought him a recliner with adjustable lumbar support for him to hopefully rest and heal. He will need to wear a cervical collar and back support for 8-12 weeks. His wife feels squeamish about possible dressing changes on his back wound, so I am happy to do that, although some surgical wounds get left open to air.

My old employer offered a weight-loss/prevent DM class, but the times didn't work. So they told me it was from the CDC, so I found it only line. Its helpful. I already avoid concentrated carbs like sweets and desserts. One thing I like to do, but have been putting off, is walking after eating to help move carbs into the cells. And drinking more water.

G'morning! Only the usual things to do today that I (naturally) put off yesterday. Yes, dish-washing and laundry. But first, I have to walk Tinker! I will be back here after a while, I am sure! 🫠 <Melting face due to 93 degrees and 69% humidity.

We had a cool front come in (BLOW in) Monday so last night I made beanless chili. I bought Frito chips for the guys (and had a very small number myself). It is still just 60 degrees out there.

Hubs got the insurance policies straightened out so that Twin A can have coverage. Remarkably, we are not spending more. Having old cars helps, I guess. The insurance agent did say that we could go back to our other coverage in 6 months because some of his points will have fallen off (assuming he doesn't get more).

Hello all!

Ado, chili and Fritos sounds good! Glad you were able to get insurance straightened out. A friend with a past DUI has not renewed his license, even though it's been a few years since the incident. He chooses now to not own a vehicle, and to walk to work and to get supplies, etc. He and his roommates share. He owns an e-bike and uses it sometimes but also will hitch a ride from friends. He says he is happier without the extra costs. Don't blame him.

nursej22, hope your sister's telehealth visit went well. That was nice of you to get the recliner for your ds, and I'm sure his wife appreciates your doing the dressing changes. I hope he continues to improve and heal. Thanks for the reminder to drink more water!

No Stars, UGH, 93 degrees and 69% humidity!! No, no, no, no, and --- NO!! Stay inside! Hope Tinker is behaving herself!

I went to the grocery store then after I returned home and we put things away, we fixed lunch and watched an episode of Endeavour. I did some exercises while watching, so I wasn't sitting on my tush ALL the time! Dh just gathered the trash and recyclables, and is taking the bins down to the curb for tomorrow's pickup.

Cats are all fine, and Little Doggy, though older, is stable. Just a little more feeble than he used to be. He is developing cataracts, and we think he is losing his hearing -- much like we are, as we are aging!

Not much else going on here! Have a good evening!

Good evening.

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

J22, glad you could be there for your son.

Life goes on in med surg land. It was quite busy with discharges and admissions.

I'm lucky that I can eat carbs and eat a high carb diet. I'm having curried black beans with coconut milk and quinoa. I hope my GI system accepts it as I haven't eaten beans in months other than lentils and a small serving of fava beans. We'll see.

Back to work tomorrow. The shelves I ordered from Wayfair that I canceled and got a notification they were canceled are being delivered tomorrow supposedly. I got through AI to a live person and they said my order couldn't be canceled. I hung up before I said something rude. At the end of the day I did want the shelves, I just wasn't happy with their service. We'll see...
