Stars glad you're making progress on the paperwork

Tweety that is tough, doing 3 in a row. My BIL has been doing 5 in a row but PACU is a bit easier than the floor

Hi Ado

NJ22 I have heard that part of Oregon is nice

Yesterday was the last day of the reunion for me, although some people were staying another day. Packed and visited the Gus Grissom Memorial museum nearby, then said my goodbyes and drove home with my dad and his ladyfriend. Thankfully it was a quieter car ride on the way back, as she normally tends to be a nonstop talker. Though the drive took longer as we hit rush hour traffic on the way back. Would have been better if we'd left an hour earlier, but that didn't happen. And if she hadn't delayed us at lunch. Thankfully was not as exhausted as I had feared I would be once I got home.

Today have the day off, will do bird watching as long as the rain holds off. Also planning some laundry and a stop at the grocery store. Might bake too, got some freshly ground cornmeal from our trip that I want to use

Going to be in the upper 70s today, rain expected later

Good morning!

Welcome home Joe. Enjoy the day off.

Ado, sorry you're struggling with the diet. My best friend is low carb but eats fruit. Carbs are not bad for you in the whole form like grains, beans and fruit. Many people lose weight on low carb of course, mainly because they are cutting out things like pizza, burgers and what not but carbs are not the problem. Thank you for listening to my T.E.D. talk.

J22 hope you're having a good time. Tacos have now become part of the "fusion cuisine" in which they put anything in it.

I'm going to best friends for lunch. Wings and salad (low carb stuff) and doing some meal prep for the next few days of work. Making a tofu fried rice dish, with the interesting addition of cherry tomatoes.

I'm taking a week off from social media to see if I can break some of the time I waste doom scrolling. I'll be checking email and walking away. So you may or may not see me post daily. But I do appreciate being able to come and rant and see what you're all up do.

I was so tired last night that I don't even remember feeling sleepy; as soon as I lay my head on the pillow I was gone. Don't even know what time it was when I last looked at the clock.

This morning I woke up saying "Oh, my KNEES!" and then,in addition, it was my hips and my hands .... all practically screaming at me. I got up and went down to the kitchen to feed the dog and make coffee, then came back to bed and took my meds, hoping hot coffee would send them into overdrive to help them work. Then I made a 2nd cup of coffee and had 1/2 p'butter sandwich. It is now just after 9:30 and I do feel much better, although my fingers feel a little 'thick' after so much activity last night.

So, time to get dressed and take the Tink out to walk the yard. Yesterday she flushed out a deer that was curled up invisibly in the long grass down in the woods way at the back of the back yard. Surprised us both, as well as the deer!

I have a direction in mind with which I want to deal today, but I will just "DO" it , as Yoda always said. Later, I'll fill you in on my activities!

Y'all have a good'n. Ride that Camel through "Hump Day", and I'll talk with you all later!

I'm B-a-a-a-a-a-ack! 😁

Went to the other bank and MY banker is gone for a 2 week vacation! Harumph! Anyway another guy helped me out just FINE, except the funny thing was he could not get the new zip code to be accepted by the computer when he tried to enter it! I called S to ask him if the zip code was correct, and he said it was, and it is also the zip code of the bank branch in Fla which is same as the one I was in here in NC. Weird! Oh well. He gave me a bank-form statement of the amount I had in checking and put my new address on it (including the zip code that the computer wouldn't accept as the correct one.) I hope to get a few more things in the mail going down there. I told S to be on the look out for any of it. Then when I get there and get my Fla license I can take it to the bank (wait a minute, I think that's supposed to be vice versa!) ANYWAY, he said it would be better for me to order new checks w/ Fla address on them once I GET there, so my checks wouldn't be "floating around". (that was the banker who said that, even though I told him it was my friend's house and they would be there to get their mail just like they do everyday; there will be no 'floating'!)

I started packing today....yes-sir-yes-sir, three bags full of canned and/or things in jars from the pantry, which I will take in my car. I also bagged my bed sheets and a 'neat' (ie not ruffled) bed-skirt, a cotton blanket and 'good' towels/wash cloths I DOUBLE-checked and made SURE NONE of the sheets were polyester because they make me SWEAT! (Those will go in the POD.) Since it's gonna be hot, I have a pile of t-shirts; I got two the other day, in a 2-fer sale.....one was for Led Zeppelin, and the other just made me LOL....It has on it "THE EMOTIONS OF CHUCK NORRIS" with nine pictures of him with the exact same facial expression on each one. The emotions being: JOY, SORROW, ANGER, BOREDOM, EXCITEMENT, FRUSTRATION, FLIRTATIOUS, SLEEPINESS, and IMPATIENCE. I actually have never been a big Chuck Norris fan and never watched any of his shows or movies, but for some strange reason, my warped sense of humor just LOVES Chuck Norris jokes! Go figure!

It's only 4 PM so I have time to bag a buncha clothing I'm going to put in the POD, with a LOT of other stuff; probably too much, but what the hey, I'm trying to wean-off some of the things I've had for YEEEAAARRZZZ, and now that I'm getting serious about getting prepared to GO, welp, SIGH! I also won't have enough walls for the framed stuff I have, but I'm takin' 'em anyways. One day I'll have more walls, I'm a'hoping. I know I won't be able to have my collection of little boxes out on display, but they are still going down there, for the future residence, where-ever it might be. I have been collecting, here and there for years, well, some of the boxes are pretty, but some of them are one-of-a-kind, unusual, odd, and/or funny; I've rec'd some as gifts, but some of those I honestly don't care a thing about, so they will go into the donation box and maybe someone else will be enchanted and give them a good home.

Tinker is up at the front glass door, barking away to beat the band, growling, YIPPING, yapping, squeaking.... I just did "the mom thing" and called out four of my long-gone, former dogs' names telling her to STOP! (PIPPY, OZZIE, FANG, MOOSIE!)

As usual I could go on and on, and I think I prolly will for another paragraph or two, but I really REALLY am going to get up and pack some more stuff that will go in the POD. I plan on....but not today....gathering in one spot, all the things I will need to take in the car.....Shampoo, soap, my hairdryer, brushes, lidocaine roll-on, medicines, both OTC and 'scripts, plus my so-called p.j's, slippers, jeans, socks and shoes, blah-dee-blah and so-forth, and so-on's, etc, almost infinitum. Oh yeah, and the dog, her dog food and dog toys. One or two of the things I will be taking will form a bed or higher seat in the car's passenger seat IF I can get her to stay THERE because I won't want to hold her with my left arm and drive with my right hand for SIX-plus hours on the highways and Interstates! But I will take a pillow, the comforter and the other blanket that she uses as a bed, and I am NOT going to wash them before we leave, so she will have a LITTLE sense of home and familiar things; when we get there I can lay them out on the bed in that room where we will be sleeping until my (our) bed arrives on the 14th. I hope that bed we will be sleeping on doesn't have a sagging mattress; I'm used to sleeping on something FIRM, even if it does have a butt-sized dent in each end of the mattress!

Sure, sure, OKAY-ALREADY, STARS! HUSH IT UP! (Yes, ma'am.)
