Stars glad the POD was delivered as expected

Tweety wow you've known him a long time

Hi NRSKaren and Ado

Work was pretty good yesterday despite getting a new case and having 2 meetings, thankfully one was quite short. After work did the grocery shopping and stopped at the library. With the heat it was difficult, was in the 90s with the humidity it was more like 102 but I got it done. Rested the rest of the day. Knee was better but at times sore and stiff

Today hopefully will be calm at work, have to work on the side project but no meetings. Knee feels pretty much normal this morning, we'll see if it stays that way. Nothing going on after work

Another day of temps in the 90s and extreme heat warnings. Will continue until tomorrow. No rain expected today

I have my eyes open, I made some coffee, I fed the dog, my phone battery is charging, I will have to charge my laptop battery soon, my thighs and knees are cramping and aching so in addition to my routine meds I have taken some Arnica; I have to call my credit card as they are freaking out about the $727 charge by The POD PEOPLE, and the POD PEOPLE are freaking out for the payment to be made. Today I WILL be packing the small desk and a small dresser with the method suggested by PODS...SARAN WRAP! Brilliant idea to keep the drawers from sliding open! I have two wide rolls on standby, for when I do actually wake up. I am waiting for the meds to kick in, and then it's back at it again! OY VEY!

S'gonna be wicked hot and humid today and tomorrow, and worse on Friday and Saturday. It is interesting to note that the temps here are MUCH higher than they are where I'm headed in Florida. At least I am not having to DRIVE through this heat! I hope the power grid holds fast! 102 degree temps with the high humidity is cruel and brutal. But I am thankful I don't have an outside construction job. I think I told you once that I had an old coot of a private duty patient who told me about his father working on building the extensive highway construction in Texas way back when, driving some heavy equipment with no cab on it, and certainly no AC. Now THAT must've been one rugged man! I can't even imagine having to work like that under those conditions.

.....Just woke up again from a 30 minute nap and I am beginning to feel more human, the aches in my legs have subsided, so a little more coffee and a phone call or two, and I'm good to go!

Laydah, you'n's!

Put myself "in line" for a return call from Pods, and it said on-line that it would be about 30 minutes for a return call. That was 4 hours ago. There is NO WAY to get in touch with that company; I swear, for that alone, my review will not be a good one. I have sent numerous messages which apparently fall down some rabbit hole. They had said (on-line, on the 'myPODS' site) if the charge isn't paid, they will cancel my scheduled dates and I will have to re-schedule. Well, the money is in the account, but they were using the wrong address when they entered it. The debit card company confirms my suspicions about the wrong address being used, but do I get ANY acknowledgement from The POD PEOPLE? This isn't like dealing with aliens, it's like dealing with a company that ignores their customers to the Nth degree. It is way worse than The Twilight Zone! I just sent them a message again, this time saying that it is THEIR fault , not mine, as they HAVE the correct address, but they are not using it. I have been waiting for SOME kind of response for FOUR hours. I am a 'little bit' MORE than "fit to be tied".

I really should calm down, I guess, but honest to pete, I am downright disgusted! I'll have to stop stewing and go back to getting the desk drawers and the small dresser drawers emptied and refilled with useful stuff, and then wrap them both with Saran Wrap to keep the drawers from emptying during transit. Transit? HUH!! IF they ever get my pending 'overdue' payment thing right, there will be no transit. Ppppffftttt!

There is no air stirring outside, the branches of the trees and bushes are just hanging there, like it's a painting of a still-life. It is 99 degrees and possibly going up to 102 tomorrow and maybe with a heat index of 105 by Saturday. The weather down where I am moving to is MUCH more reasonable, only in the low 90's, and there are breezes, and a chance of afternoon showers. The low temps for tonight here are not going to go under the mid-to-upper 80's! The weather folks say we are 'under a heat dome', and because we are also in a drought, there is a water restriction, so they have turned off all the water that kids like to run through as it spews up from various spouts in the ground at the parks. GOOD GRIEF!

Grumble, grouse, snarl, SNAP! 💢

We made good time getting to Seattle and back for sis's procedure, even stopped for a quick lunch. Dh has a long list of stuff for me to do for the Master Gardeners. We were gone for a week and I purposely didn't not take my computer so I would have a week off. Dh went to volunteer this morning, and got many requests to create flyers, which apparently, only I can do. For whatever reason, the other person that trained to do it has not been asked. And I need to write up minutes for a meeting I attended 2 weeks ago. I think I will go peek at my garden before I get too immersed in this computer.

Great pictures, J22!

So the weather app says "abundant sunshine." That means, yep, it's BRIGHT out there. As I became very aware when we left the retina doctor on Monday. Both eyes dilated. Very glad Twin A was driving. The good news is that my eye is so stable that I don't have to return for TWO years!

Tomorrow we're having a "cookout" at work. They'll serve burgers and "fixin's" and we can bring in desserts that will be sold by the serving (as a fundraiser for other employee events).

Yet again, one of the air conditioners isn't working so there are fans set up in strategic locations, most notably right outside my office. I, however, am still cold in the office.

Beautiful photos, j-22!

Ado, glad your eye is stable! .......(I still have no stars in mine)

Well, the PODiots FINALLY used the correct address with my debit card, so I have been snatched back from the edge of my move being cancelled, and I no longer owe that particular charge; but there are more to come, so I hope they don't make that same mistake again. And guess what! 🙄 They told me that there is no charge for the final pick up of the emptied POD. Gee-golly-whiz! How generous of them. 😜

I have packed and unpacked and sweated and found more stuff I forgot I had....like, when I opened the hall closet and saw a big box of a whole bunch of art supplies. There is one very large watercolor set I was given as a gift quite some time ago and never got to use. I guess I will donate a lot of the unused things to the women's shelter thrift shop, because I already feel like I am running out of POD space....even though I have yet to put one single box in it! I suppose I will just have to bite the iced-cube (bullet) and load it during the hottest part of the week. Not much choice, as they will come to haul it off (filled) on Wednesday AM. Then I get to fill up the car (or whatever space it has; KIA Soul's are not very big! But at least it isn't a VW Bug!) And Thursday me'n'the Tink head out on The Great 6 + 1/2 (plus) hours drive. Maybe we'll be lucky and it won't be a thousand degrees by then!

Well, I'm going to brace myself and take the dog out, now that the sun is lower.

PHEW! I could coat myself with 2" of Vaseline and wrap up in Saran Wrap and I would still feel cooler than it is outside right now! Dissssss-gusting humidity! Oh well, there's still krapp to deal with upstairs that has to be done, so I will cool off for a moment and then go back up and deal with a little more of it. I was once underwhelmed by the idea of packing up, thought it would be easy-peasy, and took my own sweet time. Now I am dragging my heels while putting the pedal to the metal (not easy to do at the same time!) and it is OVERwhelming me. Live and learn (sigh)

I did NOT type the same thing twice. My laptop said it was going to merge the post with my previous posting, I must have stuttered with my finger or something.

Good evening.

We're used to the humidity here but there are some days it gets really stickily.

Nice photos J22

Glad the eye exam went well Ado.

Stars I've found in my interactions with companies they don't care how they treat people anymore. They no show, don't call you back. Bleh

Worked sucked. No secretary, but at least I was a "free charge". Tomorrow they say I will have a full patient assignment. I don't mind, but I hope there's a secretary,. One secretary is out sick, two are quitting (and one was at her grandmother's funeral today). I see a lot of days ahead without a secretary. There are techs cross trained but we never had enough techs.

Bleh.....

Have a good evening.

I should have captioned my pictures. The cove reminded me of the Goonies movie, which was filmed, in part, in the area. I just loved the sign post which pointed the name.

The old lighthouse is out of commission, but the Coast Guard has a spotting station next to it, that you can see the corner of, just left of the lighthouse.

And the little rose, was a wild rose growing along side the path. I think it is a Nootka rose.

Stars, you remind me of Dory, in Finding Nemo. As I say to myself in the midst of an onerous, never-ending task, "just keep swimming, just keep swimming."

Good one. I've never seen that movie, but I like the encouragement it holds. Thanx!
