Tweety seems like a good plan, hope the AC is fixed soon

Stars I think those trees are likely oaks, a lot of old plantation houses have very old oaks

NJ22 hope the smoke doesn't get too bad

I did have to end up staying a bit late yesterday, and cut lunch short a bit. Wouldn't have had to stay late but got a new case towards the end of the day that I only got partially done. I also wanted to work ahead a bit a finish a few quick tasks scheduled for today

Rest of the day was pretty ordinary, mostly just exercised. Watched the cat as he seemed to be coughing in the morning but since then he seems to be fine

Today thankfully the coworker is back, although today and tomorrow have to find time to work on the side project. Things have been complicated by having Friday off, which pushes causes tasks to back up that I can't push to next week. Think one of my groups has a Zoom meeting tonight

Going to be in the mid 80s again today, think we're going to get rain

Good morning!

Stars, moving and get things changed to a new state is a pain. Hope you can get a PCP appointment soon.

I called the air conditioner place to try to get an eta on the motor and they couldn't give me one. She had 1 to 7 days listed. Not acceptable. She's going to try to give me a better update today.

Meanwhile I came home an it was muggy hot 91 inside my house. Poor Waffles was panting. I should have left the room air conditioner on but was afraid to. Anyway, I couldn't sleep it was so hot and it took hours to cool down the room and the portable air conditioner isn't made for my window and some hot air makes it back in. Long story short I was going to stay with a friend but they don't allow pets and got a last minute sitter for Waffles via the Rover app. but wasn't finalized until she met the dog.

Long story shorter best friend said I should sneak Waffles in his condo since she doesn't bark no one will know. Even if someone finds out , he's well liked and respected that he could deal with it. Who would kick out a 16 year old blind dog that doesn't bark and subject her to 90 plus heat?

My boss is being understanding in me taking another day off. To top it off my mother is ill and is being taken to the hospital with shortness of breath. She refused to go and has an unreasonable fear of hospitals. Today they are going to try to force the issue and call 911 since she can't make it to the car. Likely CHF exacerbation or her kidneys have finally gave out. We'll cross bridges as we get there but hospice is not out of the realm of possibilities.

I canceled my crown placement as I couldn't deal with the stress of that. I also canceled the appointment with the lawyer to make up the will and other documents.

I ate so much delicious fruit salad and a large cobb salad yesterday that I paid for it by being up until 3 AM with the galloping crud. Fiber overload. Now I am tired and annoyed. Oh well. I suppose if I get up, dressed, and move around my perspective might change.

Tweety, I hope your A/C woes resolve soon. Poor Waffles! // Glad you mentioned the PCP, as I had already forgotten that's one of the things I REALLY need to do ASAP!

"Tired and annoyed" sounds like me on most days lately! 😆

I was mildly confused reading about Tinker yesterday, but figured I was wrong in thinking she was a girl. I'm sure she enjoys the added warmth of her outfit, and doesn't care about the color or ruffles. But I definitely understand why it isn't your first choice.

I hope Tweety and Waffles can be comfortable until the A/C is fixed, and that the wait won't be long.

Not a lot to talk about here. And that's OK.

All of the hospital A/C units are working as of today, so there's that!

Hello all!

Joe, a four-day work week is nice, except when five days' worth of work is crammed into it! I hope a balance can be reached.

Tweety, I am shaking my head and clucking like a hen, over your A/C issue and the discomfort for both you and (especially) Waffles! AND please keep us informed about your mom's health, that is worrisome. Agree, if she can't/won't get out to the car, need to call 911. I don't blame you for cancelling your two appointments. I can only handle so much, myself. You know your limits.

Ado, at least the hospital A/C is working!

No Stars, I did note the "he" in yesterday's reference to TInker, and my brain said, "Oh, I guess SHE is a HE, my bad!" She IS a SHE! I'm glad she's warmer with the outfit, though I agree with you and Ado about that skirt. Skirt is a NOPE from me! And, 70 degrees is way too cool for me! 76 might be more tolerable. I hope you are better after your fiber overload. YES, make that PCP appointment!

I've slept pretty well the last couple nights -- well, there I go, jinxing it!! Anyway, it was nice. Yesterday I was droopy (for lack of any other medical term for how I was feeling), so didn't go out of the house, didn't exercise. Feeling better today. I had completed reading Into Thin Air, by Jon Krakaur. I usually need a day or so to mull over books once I've finished reading them, that may have been the cause of the droopiness. It was very moving to review the events of that particular climb, especially after I'd been following the climb, online, in 1996. Bottom line is, climbing Everest is a risky thing to do. Kudos to those to attempt and survive, whether they summit or not.

Nothing is planned for today, except mentally getting prepared for our upcoming festival.

Have a good afternoon/evening!

Dh and I cleaned out half the pantry, as he noticed a sticky substance waaaaaaaaaaay in the back, as he was searching with a flashlight for the ant source. We pulled out all outdated cans and he carted them out to the recyclable bin (luckily it goes out tomorrow). Then I washed the shelves and rearranged the meager remnants. Later I got on the phone and changed the automatic payment for our RV insurance to a new credit card. May I just say, AI is a PAIN. I just want to talk with someone and change the credit card that the payments will go to! They'd prefer I use their website, I'm sure. Nope. After repeatedly asking for "a representative," I ended up paying next month's payment on the new card, then when asked if I wanted that as my method of payment in the future, responded YES! I hope that takes care of the issue. I dunno what technophobes do these days, it's hard enough when one is a little comfortable with technology but then is shoved into more and more AI and use of technology rather than just talking with someone.

OK, rant over. I should go exercise, at least. Later!

I am worn out from being out in the heat/humidity/smoke all day. The air quality indicator was up to 150 (unhealthy for sensitive individuals) now back down to 100. My throat got rather scratchy for a while.

But my heat is nothing like what Tweety, Waffles, and Annie are dealing with. I hope the AC gets dealt with pronto.

Dianah, I can sympathize with plumbing the depths of cabinets. I did that last week when I changed out the faucet, and discarded and consolidated many cleaning products under the kitchen sink. Tomorrow I need to clean out the dishwasher as it has a really funky smell.

Best wishes to your mum, Tweety.

I did actually get an appt made w/ a PCP for the 19th of August. I arrive at 9 AM, which was not my favorite time, but anything for a later-in-the-day appt would have me waiting until September and I can't afford to wait THAT long. I need to get established with a PCP pronto. It is a female doctor in the same practice of the first doc I requested, and although it says on line HE is accepting new patients, he isn't any more, right now. Too bad because he got A+ 100% satisfaction reviews, but oh well, maybe the lady doc from the same practice will be good, too. I picked the office closer to me than the one I had originally wanted but it is still the same practice, so I am hopeful.

I DID get my NC primary doc to phone in the refills for the two meds that would need renewal. One I pick up tomorrow and the other one I will bring the empty bottle to this pharmacy next week, and then I think I will be good for a while. The woman who helped set up the appt w/my new PCP was very pleasant and helpful to to deal with. I also checked w/ the tax office about my Car Insurance Co who had told me NOT to change my insurance to FLA until 2 days before my "New Resident" appt, and I checked w/ the office I will have to make that appt w/ because I was worried I might not get the paperwork in time, but they said the Ins Co can fax them with the info, so that question was resolved nicely.

I am still hoping to get my room or a portion of it attacked tomorrow, or maybe tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, and maybe I will find the hearing aids in the process. That would be a 'mackeral' as a former patient used to enjoy calling them! That reminds me of I sign I saw long ago in a little town in the back country in NC where the church sign called them "Mericals" on one side of their sign, and "Miricals" on the other side of the same sign. Another church sign I saw which I know I have previously mentioned, said you would be welcome to join a this church "where everybody is somebody" and a friend wanted to go paint on the sign underneath that, "Unless they are somebody else."

It's getting late/early.... 2:40 AM so I better turn out the lights and hunker down under the comforter.

And yes, Tinker is a girl dog! The pink outfit is a horror to me, it just doesn't seem right, but I've never been a fan of the color pink; my older sister always chose blue, so it was either pink for me or red, which I thought was even worse. Now "deep greens and blues are the colors I choose" and I especially like various shades of teal, but I REALLY don't care a thing for PASTELS.

As my sister used to say to me when we shared a room as youngsters, "Shut up and go to sleep!" ....And one of my high-school yearbook nicknames I put down a "Stars be Quiet."

So I am about to be..... Ssshhhhhh! 🤫
