Washington State Licensing

I passed my Nclex on 2/20 per unofficial results. But my RN license in Washington State is still pending. Granted my school did not send my official transcripts when they said they would. The board sent me an email saying they needed them right after my test. I ended up overnighting the transcripts the next day. So the board received them on Friday afternoon. I have been checking everyday and it still says pending. I was wondering if anyone knows the timeline for Washington for approval. I also do of a 10 year old misdemeanor charge of shoplifting that happened when I was 18 years old. Maybe that is the hold up too? I am so nervous, even though I know I passed the nclex not having my license is approved is stressful. I am so afraid I'll have to take that test again for some crazy reason.

Breathe. On their website it indicates a 7-14 day time frame for renewal, I would expect time frame for a new license to be at least that long if not a little longer. Many states have a 4-6 week processing time for first time licensure.

I'd give them a call asking what their typical new applicant processing time is at the moment, and then give at least that amount of time before getting too worked up about your license not being issued yet.

how long the waiting process for license endorsement?

I've been waiting for over 2 months. I got my temporary after about 6 weeks, but my permanent is still pending. Oddly, I've found Washington endorsement to be more challenging and time-consuming than California's was.

Oh Thanks!. That's why i haven't received any response from them. I started last week. I guess it will take weeks before I received the Finger print card for the background check.

Yep, haven't even gotten that yet.

I just called them because I realized it's been almost 2 months since my check cleared - they said they mailed out the packet with my fingerprint card on 12/20. So they're resending it.

Hi Klone, I got my finger print card on feb 18, filled and sent back to Washington DOH on 19. Until now I haven't receive any notification from them. How long do they respond? Thank you.

I don't know because I haven't sent back my fingerprint card yet.

Hello! I am currently in the same boat. I’ve received my temporary license 3 weeks after mailing all my endorsement paperwork. My status is still pending for an active license. I know it’s the background check that’s holding me back. Anyone has an idea of how long it’ll be for the fbi to clear that? It has already been 6 weeks since I mailed my packet to their DOH.
