By the time you graduate things will have changed dramatically in ALberta. At the moment there are few positions open to external applicants and IENs who have been here for years are finding that Alberta Health Services is not renewing their work permits... even the ones with highly-specialized skills. Who knows what it will be like in 5 years?

Nurses do have a good quality of life here if they're able to maintain a balance between work and home. Many of my coworkers live in houses much nicer than mine, drive new cars and take trips to exotic places a few times a year. I haven't been anywhere more exotic than New Orleans in my life. I work part time so that I can have a life outside of work.

Please check the cic.gc.ca if you want to apply for a permanent resident here,I think they already reached cap for RN's.

The OP hasn't even finished nursing school yet. Who knows what the economic situation will be in 5-6 years?
