Wake Tech Spring 2019

This is my first post. I noticed that there hasn't been a thread started for this application cycle. So, I wanted to start one for anyone else applying for next spring.

I am am taking my last three pre-reqs (microbiology, dev. psychology and english 112) this summer semester and am regretting the amount of work that so many classes during summer means. But, at least it is already halfway over.

I just took my teas and spoke to an advisor. As of right now I am at 108 points. The advisor said that the amount of points of people accepted for the upcoming fall semester was between 124 and 166.

So, if all goes the same and I pass all classes hopefully that means I'm in. 🤞

Where does everyone else stand?

I went by the nursing office yesterday as they were packing up for the day and they said that they are making calls today! They have had a few accepted students decline spots and 3 alternates decline spots. 2 of which are ahead of me on the list:) There is hope it will start moving soon!

What number are you on the list if you don't mind me asking?

How about you?

Good idea! Same!

I just stopped by and there aren't going to be any calls today.

so frustrating...I don't understand the hold up!

hmmm. I wonder what that means...They're closed tomorrow, so it sounds like it will be pushed well into next week.

Yeah I'm not sure either! Also not sure why everyone keeps saying oh we're going to start tomorrow. So hopefully it'll definitely be resolved by next week?

I really hope they start making calls tomorrow! Especially with thanksgiving next week. I'm really surprised that it's taking so long to notify the first few people.

Hello I just found this thread looking through wondering how many people get accepted as alternates. I just applied for Spring 2020 and was placed on the alternate list, not sure which spot yet. I was wondering if you could tell me if you got in and what spot you were. thank you!?

Hey Madison! I did get in and I was number 15. I think they accepted 16 or 17 off the list that semester. They will let you know how many are on the list at orientation and what spot you are. Not everyone ahead of me accepted their spot and supposedly that always happens up to the last minute. I didn't find out until the week before Christmas and it was torture, but its different each semester. The reason it took them so long my semester was bc they were short clinical instructors and were trying to hire a new one. Also, there will be students that were accepted that will decide to not be in the program so that will move the alternate list too. I believe the semester before me the entire alternate list got a spot and it was like 40 students. I believe they really try to get the alternates in if they have the room. You will love the program! Its tough, but well organized and you will love most of the instructors:). Hang in there!

Thank you so much for all the information!! It means a lot! I have been very worried about being an alternate and we don't have orientation until next Thursday but hopefully I will be high up on the list! Thank you again!
