Hi, has there been anyone out there that has made it into the RN program at STCC for the fall of 2010 from the waitlist? I'm on the waitlist, but they won't even tell me if they've started using it or not, let alone where I am on the waitlist. Any information would be helpful, thanks.

If you're talking about Springfield Tech then I know a girl who got accepted to start in fall 2009 who was on the wait list, not sure out of how many though and she found out over the summer.

They only waitlist about 10 people each year so your chances are very very good. Good Luck!
Hi, thanks for the encouragement. Do you know any more about it, and not to sound ungrateful or rude, but how do you know this?
A friend of mine works there.
Thank you so much for this information. I've been on pins and needles waiting and wondering. I got an 'A' for my second semester A&P, and am currently taking (online over summer) the last 'non-nursing' course of Human Growth and Development, so after this class, I'm good to go with only the RN courses left. I have 3 kids and am single and 44 years old, so had to make it as easy as possible to get through the clinical/RN classes, although I know it's not easy per se, but at least have as little to focus on as possible.

Let me move this the student nursing forum.
Ok, thanks.
Hi, can you tell me when during the summer your friend got accepted? Like the middle, end? Yeah, I know I'm a bit anal about it, but that's me. I'd have thought they'd be hitting their waitlist early in the summer as that would be when they'd find out from other students who was accepting positions and who wasn't.
I asked my friend and they said that when they send out the acceptance letters there is a date in which the students have to put a deposit down to hold their spot, the deposit is a small amount and many students pay it while they wait to hear from other schools. Then from that date until the date bills are due, students sometimes cancel but most just do not pay the fall bill. If you find out when bills are due, that will give you the best idea of the latest date should hear by (a week after the due date) They also told me that if you stop in to the DON's office there is a good chance she can tell you...Just do not mention anything you have heard through the grapevine (AKA, this) because she is not a fan of gossip or of type A personalities....even though most of her students are just that! Her famous line is that she loves her B students or something along those lines - sorry I can't remember exactly what my friend said but the way they told me it was like this is a joke of some sort amongst people there. Hopefully others will pipe in with first-hand knowledge!
