I have been on the waiting list for the LPN program in my area for over a year now. I just got my placement card. I am number 26 on the backup list. What exactly does this mean? I wonder what my chances are of me getting into one of the upcoming day classes, which start Aug, Jan, and March. Has anyone run into this problem? I am going to be attending a school in Tampa, FL????????

Number 26 sounds good....at least it seems your getting closer! :)
I don't know anything about your school, or even waiting lists, but good luck all the same! :)

Hmm.. Does this mean that I'll most likely be put on a waiting list when I apply for the Spring RN program?? I guess I should be first in line the day that Spring Registration for RN's happens... I'd hate to have to wait a whole year or more and then still have to go through the RN program...look at all those years.... I guess it just has me a little bummed because I want to hurry and get my prerequisites done and jump into the RN program... The thought of sitting on a waiting list forever is a bummer... What kind of classes do you take to pass the time???

I think that means they already have their alloted number of students, and now you are 26 on the list after those. If they drop or decide not to do the program then your name moves up. I am #62 and they only take 30 a year, so my chances of starting in January are slim.

I am assuming you applied for the Erwin program(so did I).I was lucky enough to get in for the March class.I didn't want to wait that long so in the mean time I will be taking pre reqs at HCC in the fall for my RN.Good luck to you.
