  1. I came across it a little while ago, and will probably order it.. I wonder if the college book store would have it... hmm I'll have to check on that when I go to school Monday.
  2. Hi... Does anyone know of a good website to find printable A&P coloring sheets and normal worksheets? So far I haven't found any... thanks
  3. Thanks everyone! I feel much better about it.. I think if I'm allowed to pick a topic, I will do it on children with ADHD because my son has it.. So, I'd know first hand about that topic.... Thanks again everyone!
  4. I have been dreading Speech class more than any other one including Microbiology, etc... I absolutely HATE getting up in front of a class/large group and talking.. My hands get shaky and sweaty, the room feels like it gets really small and closes me in, and it feels like the people in the seats that are listening to me are waiting for me to mess up, and I just feel all of them watching.. Then, my voice gets quieter and I'm usually told to speak up... This happens to me EVERY time I have to do some sort of speech in front of a group... I wish I knew a way to get around this.. picturing everyone in their underwear does not help...trust me..I've tried this a few times. The end result-- I end up trying to get through my speech, and in doing so, I speed read through my speech and my words get all bunched up.. Anyone have any tips for overcoming this??????
  5. Well, I was going to ask if Speech was a required course for Nursing, but after seeing this post, that answers it for me... Thanks..and I'm sure you will figure it out.. But I agree, you'd be surprised at how many would be interested in learning about diabetes too... and you never know..they could be wondering the same type of thing about their speech too!
  6. Hmm I'm surprised that you didn't get some kind of print out when you first registered and signed up for your classes. Even without financial aid, they should have given you something.. Granted, I have financial aid, but I would have thought that they would have given you something... Thats kind of weird... But every school is different I guess...
  7. What about scholarships?
  8. For a few months of thinking, I had pretty much made up my mind that I wanted to study to become an RN.. Then, over the past week, I was getting uncertain and was considering changing my mind... But, I was watching an episode of "Untold Stories in the ER" and it completely made me realize why I wanted to become an RN in the first place. First and foremost, I would be there helping to save lives.. Second, it is an exciting place to be. There is always something going on. I want to save people.. To make a difference. I think I was just getting nervous and psyching myself out of doing it because I hear so many people talking about the tests, and the things they have to remember... I know i can do it.. I need to have more confidence in myself.... lol So I know that this post won't really help anyone with their own questions or concerns..but I just wanted to post it... For anyone doubting whether or not to go into the RN program, just watch some episodes of ER and others like it... :) I have been so addicted to that show... :) :rotfl:
  9. Well, I was in college about two years ago for awhile.. and along with study buddies, I also took advantage of the tutors there... I don't know about everywhere else, but here at this school, they are wonderful! I'd be so confused (A&P) after class about something, and once I talked with the tutors, I understood it.. Now mind you, I never got to finish A&P because I moved away for awhile.. I'll be starting that up again this Fall... But when I was going to class and was taking A&P, I utilized the tutors as much as I could along with rewriting the notes, study buddies, and using the cd that the book came with... Everyone has to find their own way of doing things that works for them.. You will find "your" way and you will get the 4.0 as long as you keep it up and not get discouraged... :)
  10. Well hello then!! :) How did you like Hot Springs? I guess it has its ups and downs... I wish everything didn't close when the sun went down..lol I've been through the Ft. Smith area lots of times.. I'm going to be attending National Park Community College (formerly Garland County Community College) starting next week.. It's nice to meet someone thats been around here.. :)
  11. You know, I'm worried myself.. I start next tuesday on my summer classes, and I have an online math class.. I'm the same way in that I am more of a visual learner.. I'm a little worried about it as well... Could you tell me what all gave you troubles??? I've never had an online class before either...
  12. I don't suppose that any of you live in Arkansas?? Just trying to see if anyone is close to me...So far most of you are all on the eastern part of the U.S..
  13. Well, not sure what classes you should take in the meantime because I will probably end up in the same boat as you once I get a little further into my studies... however, I definitely know how you feel about kids, and daycare... My husband works fulltime, and he has more than once asked me to go to work to help.. But like you said, it is hard because once you pay for daycare and everything, it is more like you are working just to pay for the daycare, so you aren't actually contributing much.... We get so frustrated with this.. and you can't just hire a babysitter... they aren't reliable, I personally don't trust hardly anyone with my kids, PLUS, finding someone to watch 3 kids ages 6, 4, and 2 is hard anyways... So I know how you feel.. I know it must be frustrating about what to take in the meantime.. I know that I will have to go through that... all I can say is good luck and I'm sure it will work out for you... :uhoh21:
  14. The pics would help me out a ton.. I will definitely check into that one.. :) I'm glad you mentioned it!
  15. Hmm.. kind of weird, but hopefully if I study hard enough, they'll give me the 75 questions and I'd ace it.. lol I'm going to study my butt off!! :) But of course, 200 is 200 and I'll have to just ace that sucker too.. lol thanks for the help!
